Q: How much are they?

A: Most chicks are $15 each. Aqua Eggers and Barbu de Watermaels are $25. This week's hatch is available online at: https://thelaurelsfarm.grazecart.com/store/this-week-s-hatch

Q: Do you offer Vaccinations

A: Yes, chicks are vaccinated against Marek’s.

Q:  Do you vaccinate for mycoplasmosis?

A: No. The Mycoplasma vaccine is 2-dose vaccine and doses are given 2 weeks apart so it is not possible to vaccinate your chicks before we send them home with you a few days after they hatch.

Q: What breeds do you have?

A: Please check our website for availability https://thelaurelsfarm.grazecart.com/store/this-week-s-hatch

Q: Are our chickens purebred?

A: Black Copper Marans, Barbu de Watermael, Hedemoras, and Silverudd’s Blues are purebred Heritage breeds. Olives, Moss and Aqua Eggers are crosses.

Q: Will we be adding other breeds?

A: Yes, Crested Crème Legbar and American Bresse will be coming later this year.

Q: Are you organic?

A: We are organic practicing and working on our organic certification

Q: Are they free-range?

A: Yes. All of our chickens are kept in big, beautiful coops, with extra large runs. They have plenty of room to roam and lots of fresh air and always have outdoor access.

Q: What does free-range mean?

A: In the United States, the USDA free range regulations currently apply only to poultry and indicate that the animal has been allowed access to the outside. To be considered "free range," the poultry must have access to the outdoors for more than 51% of the animal's life.

Q: Are we cage free?

A: Yes. All of our chickens are kept in large coops and always have access to the outdoors, and they are NEVER caged – not even for breeding purposes.

Q: Can you guarantee the sex of the chicks?

A: No, we don't guarantee the sex of our chicks. With our Aqua Eggers we are able to sex them with a 90% accuracy on day of hatch. We do occasionally sell older sexed chicks. Please contact us via email, Danika@thelaurelsfarm.com, for pricing and availability. Prices range between $30 and $50 per hen.

Q: If I place an order online, when can I pick up my chicks?

A: You will receive an 2 emails from us. One confirming your order and a second one that will provide pick up option for the next day. WE DO NOT SHIP CHICKS AT THIS TIME - PICK UP ONLY AT THE LAURELS FARM IN SANDOWN NH.
